In 2016 Mika founded Damkapellet by gathering female musicians in Copenhagen with a classical background. The collective works for equality in the music scene by highlighting female composers from all times, constantly rethinking the format of the classical ensemble and experimenting with how to work in a group democratically without hierarkies and power-structures. Together with violists Pauline Hogstrand and Tove Bagge, Mika is currently working as a producer of the collective.
Mika has performed in festivals such as Bang on a Can Festival, Klang Festival, Pulsar Festival, UNM Festival, Veni Academy, Click Festival, Roskilde Festival, Talk Town Festival, Kvindemusikfestival, The House Festival, Odense Barok Festival and Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival.
